The countdown to the Latin AMAs has begun with Telemundo's announcement of nominees. Reggaeton stars Ozuna and J Balvin top the nominations with a tie of nine nods each. The pair is closely followed by multi-nominees like Nicky Jam with eight nods, and Daddy Yankee with six. Bad Bunny, Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga and Christian Nodal are next with five nods. Luis Fonsi, Maluma, Romeo Santos, Shakira and Wisin have four nods each. 10 artists have been nominated for artist of the year: Bad Bunny, Banda MS de Sergio Lizarraga, Christian Nodal, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Luis Fonsi, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Shakira. The musical genres featured in the Latin AMA categories are: pop/rock, regional Mexican, urban, and tropical. Fan votes determine the winners in all categories.
