The 2019 Grammy nominees were unveiled on Friday, December 7. Music's biggest night is two months away! Rap artists Kendrick Lamar and Drake received the most nominations. Kendrick Lamar got eight and Drake, seven. Folk singer and songwriter Brandi Carlile and producer Boi-1da received six nominations apiece. This makes Carlile the most nominated woman at the 2019 Grammys. Cardi B, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., Lady Gaga, Maren Morris, producer Sounwave and mastering engineer Mike Bozzi are next in line with five nods. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are notable absentees in the major categories.
