Maurizio Sarri says he can't play Ronaldo, Dybala and Higuain together

Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri says an attacking triumvirate of Ronaldo, Dybala and Higuain can't work at Juventus due to the characteristics of the players.  "Right now, playing three forwards is difficult due to the characteristics of the players," he said at a media conference. "You can't prohibit Dybala from dropping deep, and at the same time Cristiano's characteristics are not to play too central. We must take some precautions to fill the penalty area more.” He nonetheless expressed confidence in the players' ability to bounce back from their draw with Sassuolo in their last league game.  Today, Juventus face third-placed Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. To this effect, he said: "It's normal that after Champions League games there's a drop in energy, mentality and confidence. "But from what I've seen in training I'm confident. As always, we have to respond on the pitch, getting three points is always important...

Zlatan Ibrahimovic takes dig at Cristiano Ronaldo: 'There is one Ronaldo, the Brazilian'

In an interview with GQ Italia, Zlatan Ibrahim took a dig at his future Serie A opponent Cristiano Ronaldo, as the 38-year-old is set to return to AC Milan. He was asked if he would find the real Ronaldo in Italy, referencing the Juventus No 7. Ibrahimovic was quick to shut down the idea, saying: "There is one Ronaldo, the Brazilian." He told ESPN Brazil,  “I think I’d go for Ronaldo. For me, he was an example of what football is. “Everything he did left you open-mouthed. The way he dribbled, the way he ran, the way he scored, he was a true phenomenon.” El Fenomeno (...

He added: "For the rest, I do not attach much importance to the reactions of the public.” Reflecting on his rivalry with Messi during his spell at Real Madrid, he said, 'A lot of people said that we fed each other, that being together in Spain made us better. ...

Juventus plan to spend big on "the new Cristiano Ronaldo"

Speaking at the Bianconeri's annual shareholders' meeting for 2019, Paolo Aicardi, the chairman of the Juventus Shareholders Association, said that the signing of their most popular player Cristiano Ronaldo represented the end of a cycle for Juventus. AS reports that Aicardi said:  "Ronaldo was the endpoint of a plan that started eight years ago when (Mirko) Vucinic was our star signing. "From him to Cristiano there were various steps: (Carlos) Tevez, (Sami) Khedira... these signings show that Juventus are bringing in the biggest names in football. "When Cristiano, the number one, arrived, it was made clear that now any player can choose Juventus ahead of Real Madrid, Manchester United or Barca. "Today everything is possible, and the signing of (Matthijs) De Ligt is proof of that. Our next idea is to sign the new Cristiano Ronaldo, but a younger version.” Aicardi however gave no indication of who the club might be looking at. Juventus chairman...

But if he's happy there then I respect that: he's a fantastic footballer, a great lad, but I'm not missing anything here. This is my new life and I'm happy. " This is not a contest between me and Messi -- I just do my job and I've been successful in each club I've played in ...

Roma's legendary striker and director, Francesco Totti made comments on Barcelona's talisman for whom he has much admiration. These comments were made following the recent squabble between Roma and Barcelona over Malcom's somewhat illegal transfer from Bordeaux to Bernabeu. The Roma director was asked about Roma's chances of signing Messi as per reports that they could be preparing a bid for the Argentinian forward. There is a strong desire in Italy for Messi to join Roma. Were Messi to join Roma, with Ronaldo in Juventus, Serie A would enjoy a big boost in its ranking in world football. Totti was also asked if Roma should retire his iconic #10 shirt. His response was exactly what you'd expect from the legend and visionary that he is. He said no, because he wouldn't want to kill a kid's dream of wearing that number, which was his dream as a kid.  “I have always said no, they shouldn’t, but in the end it is a decision for the club to make.
