Cristiano Ronaldo tells Thibaut Courtois his side was lucky after Portugal's Euro exit

It's the end of the Euro race for 36-year-old Portugal ace Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal captain failed to make much of an impact against Belgium, but is leaving as the tournament's top scorer with five goals to his name. He is also the top scorer in the history of the competition. He matched Ali Dael as the all-time leading scorer in international football with the goals he scored during the group stage of this Euro campaign. Thorgan Hazard scored the winner for Belgium in the first half of the game, with Portugal unable to break through the Belgian defense for an equalizer. When the final whistle was blown, a visibly furious Cristiano took off his armband and slammed on the pitch before kicking it. He approached Belgium's keeper Thibault Courtois after the game and said: "Lucky eh? The ball didn't want to get in today." Courtois comfortably saved a 25th minute free-kick taken by Ronaldo. Ronaldo's second chance at scoring a free-kick from a better ...

Luka Modric and Thibault Courtois hit back at Diego Simeone

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have hit out at Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone for insinuating that Modric and Courtois won awards because they play for Real Madrid. In an interview with Croatian media outlet Sportske Novosti, Modric talked about his frustration at Simeone's alegations of favoritism towards Real Madrid. He said, "I understand why Simeone has defended his own players." “I understand why he believes Griezmann was the best but in doing so he feels the need to disparage Real Madrid and the players here. “There are suggestions that there is something else behind why Madrid players win these trophies, and that is not the case. “I have a lot of respect for Atletico and Simeone, their players and their fans – they are a great club and whey they defeat us, I acknowledge it and congratulate them. “But we have been hugely successful too, we have beaten them in two finals and it is not fair to say these achieveme...

Chelsea want £200million from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard

The highly speculated transfer of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid takes a dramatic twist as Chelsea have placed a £200million tag on Hazard. Real is willing to pay £150million for the Belgian ace but Chelsea want more than Neymar's world record £198million that Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for the Brazilian forward. Following the turn of events, Real are reportedly ready to cool off their interest in Hazard. Hazard has two years left on his contract with Chelsea but hasn't renewed with the club despite Chelsea offering him a £300,000/week deal. The Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is ready to hand Hazard captaincy of the team to keep him happy. Hazard had hinted at the 2018 World Cup finals that he was ready to move to his dream club Real Madrid if he were made an offer.  Jose Mourinho has shown great interest in Chelsea's Willian while  Real Madrid pursue their hunt for Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois. New Chelsea boss Sarri is doing his best to retai...

Chelsea Transfer News - “Wherever I go, Hazard must come along," says Thibaut Courtois

Eden Hazard and his team - Belgium - couldn't be happier. They beat England 2-0 on Saturday to finish third at World Cup. After the game, Hazard gave reporters hints he could be leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid. The Chelsea forward told Belgian outlet HLN  “After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different.” “Certainly after this World Cup. I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision - if they want to let me go. You know my preferred destination.” Hazard has always been a Real Madrid admirer, and Los Blancos are on a hunt for Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement. Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois isn't ruling out a transfer to Real Madrid either as he said:  “Wherever I go, Hazard must come along. We will not let each other go. We'll see. Now first vacation. And agree with my entourage in between.” The 26-year-old also alluded to the possibility of staying at Chelsea once he speaks with the n...
