Chelsea and Manchester United former boss Jose Mourinho was asked to settle the eternal Messi vs Ronaldo debate in his first television appearance since his Manchester United departure. Both Messi and Ronaldo have scored more than 600 goals in all competitions, with Messi leading the score tally in their 35 matches against each other - 16 goals for Messi and 10 for Ronaldo. On the other hand, Ronaldo is the Champion's League all-time top goalscorer while Messi is second. They have each claimed the Ballon d'Or five times, a 10 year duopoly that was recently ended (in 2018) by Luka Modric. Weighing in on the Messi vs Ronaldo debate, Mourinho said: "I think it’s unfair to both of them when somebody tells [says] ‘this one is better than the other one’. I think they’re just different. "When I had Ronaldo on my side I was a very happy man. But when I had to play against Messi I had to think a lot to try and help my team to have chances to succeed. ...
