Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness Sells Out in Hours

Avicii's tragic passing in 2018 threw more light on the need for mental health awareness inside and outside the EDM scene, with the entire music community discussing the importance of artists remaining in good mental health. After Avicii's demise, DJs like Hardwell and Carnage decided to take a break from music in order to improve their mental health. In that light, a benefit concert for mental health awareness and suicide prevention has been announced for December 5th in honor of late Swedish Producer/DJ Avicii, born Tim Bergling. The concert will hold at Avicii's hometown of Stockholm in Sweden. Avicii's family and friends made the announcement just a few days ago. The tickets went on sale today and sold out within hours - 55,000 tickets according to reports. In a statement, Avicii's father, Klas Bergling, declared,  “ Tim had plans for his music to be performed together with a large live band, and now we are realizing his dream and giving fans a chance

Aloe Blacc: Avicii cared more about music than fame and fortune

American musician Aloe Blacc who in 2013 teamed up with Avicii for a chart topping hit 'Wake Me Up!' recently discussed working with Avicii, in an interview with Music Feeds. He said the late Swedish EDM producer/DJ "cared deeply" about his music rather than focusing on fame and fortune. Blacc told Music Feeds:  "I mean, he was super-nice; he was a nice guy and very focused on music. You know, when I'm around other musicians, a lot of time all we talk about is music (laughs) - and he was one of those guys. "And, when we worked together, we were extremely intent and focused on the sound and idea that were in his head; that he wanted to get out. Working with him, I could see that he truly cared deeply about the music that he was making and not really so much about everything around it - the stardom and the fame and the money. Avicii: True Stories shall return to Netflix on Friday, December 28. It will be available for streaming in the U.S. and the U.K. Avicii passed away in Oman on April 20, 2018, at the age of 28. Avicii's family said he "could not go on any longer." True Stories captures Avicii's live on tour in the years leading up to his death. Many speculated that True Stories was withdrawn from Netflix's streaming service as a result of his death but documentary director Levan Tsikurishvili told the Guardian its first release was only intended for Scandinavia, Europe.   "The film was never supposed to have a wider release back then," he said. "What happened was that people tried to watch the movie in the US and UK and couldn’t find it. So, they ran with the story that it had been pulled.” he added. Rita Ora Dedicates New Album to Avicii

Rita Ora released her long-awaited sophomore album,  Phoenix , on Friday, November 23. Rita Ora and many artists have been deeply hurt by the loss of Swedish EDM producer/DJ Avicii.  In a recent interview with  A List magazine , prior to Phoenix's release, she announced she dedicated her second album to Avicii, by including the track they worked on last August for Avicii's last EP - Lonely Together. She originally had no plans of including the track on her album. She told A List,  “I am paying homage to him by putting "Lonely Together" on the album. We are holding the flame for him. He was an incredible person and such a talent. We were very good friends and he changed my life. In a way, the album is dedicated to him.” Avicii died on April 20, 2018, while on vacation in muscat, Oman, of an apparent suicide. MTV VMAs 2018: Complete Winners List

The 2018 MTV Music Video Awards were handed at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Monday, August 20. Childish Gambino won the most awards - three - for "This is America". Camila Cabello took home the two biggest awards - Video of the Year for "Havana" and Artist of the Year. Jennifer Lopez was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Cardi B who was the most nominated artist - with ten nominations - took home the Song of the Summer award and Best New Artist award. Late Swedish EDM producer and former DJ Avicii posthumously won the Best Dance Video award for "Lonely Together" featuring Rita Ora. Avicii Laid to Rest in Stockholm

Swedish EDM prodigy Avicii, was laid to rest eleven days ago (seven weeks after his death). A private funeral attended by only Avicii's family and closest friends, held in Stockholm on June 8. Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, "was buried on Friday at the Skogskyrkogården cemetery in Stockholm", said Ebba Lindqvist - Avicii's publicist, on Tuesday. She further added, "Only his family and closest friends were present."  Avicii was found dead on April 20 in Muscat Oman, where he was vacationing with friends. No official cause of death has been revealed but an open letter written by Avicii's parents several days after his death suggest suicide. Rita Ora performing at BBC'S Biggest Weekend Festival Rita Ora paid a poignant tribute to late EDM producer, Avicii, as she performed at BBC's Biggest Weekend festival in Swansea. Her performance was the opening act of the third day of the Biggest Weekend festival. Ora sang their collaboration "Lonely Together", which happens to be the last single Avicii released before he passed away. Avicii's name boldly flashed-up on the video screens as Ora sang. Ora thanked the crowd for singing along at the end of the song. She said, "Thank you for singing that with me. It's always hard for me to sing that, so thank you for singing along." "Without You" is a single by Avicii featuring Sandro Cavazza, from the EP  Avīci (01) . The song was released on the 11th of August as the lead single from Avicii's Extended Play,  Avīci (01) . Avicii played the song during his Ultra Miami set in March 2016. Avicii had launched a remix contest for the song in 2017. The song was produced by Carl Falk and Tim Bergling (Avicii), and written by: Carl Falk, Tim Bergling, Vincent Pontare, Dhani Lennevald, Alessandro Cavazza, and Salem Al Fakir. The winners of the contest, Tokima Tokio and Notre Dame had their remixes feature in the official remix EP, released on October 13, 2017. Remixes from Otto Knows and Rob Adans also featured. Updates on Avicii's Funeral and His Unreleased Album

Avicii's family made an announcement today, May 22nd, regarding Avicii's funeral. His family made a statement to Billboard, the family explained: "There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii. The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim. They kindly ask media to respect this. There is no additional information forthcoming."  According to sources, Avicii had close to 200 finished songs. Avicii planned on releasing another Extended Play (EP) . According to Swedish magazine  Aftonbladet , Avicii's family will be releasing his album before the end of the year. The family has met with record company representatives and partners to this effect. Avicii was honored at the Billboard Music Awards that held on May 21.
