'I'd choose Ronaldinho at his best over Messi' - Brazil legend 'touched by God', says Cardetti

Martin Cardetti says he prefers Brazil prodigy and former Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Ronaldinho to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi. Cadetti and Ronaldinho played together at PSG before the latter's transfer to Barcelona in 2003. Cadetti told  Crack Deportivo : As a coach, for my team I would choose Ronaldinho at his best over Messi. "I shared a year with Ronaldinho and he is a different player, he's touched by God. "He always had fun; with the ball he was always doing things and he practiced a lot so that he could replicate those things in matches." The Argentinian added: "You see him in training, in matches and every move he makes is different from everyone. "Players like him appear very rarely and they are remembered in football history. "I'm proud to have been a team-mate of that kind of player." Ronaldinho has won the 2005 Ballon d'Or, World Cup, Champions League and La Liga among other honors. Messi has also enjoyed a

Luis Suarez slams Barcelona after Anfield defeat, Valverde apologizes

After an unfruitful, devastating night for Barcelona at Anfield yesterday, Barcelona striker Luis Suarez said his side "looked like schoolboys" after Liverpool overturned Barcelona's 3-0 first leg lead and won the game on aggregate to advance to the Champions League finals. Barcelona repeated the same mistakes they made last year, throwing away a three-goal first leg lead; last year in a quarter-final second leg in Rome, and now in the semi-final return leg at Anfield. Spanish media have labelled the defeat "The biggest farce in football" and "The blackest page in Barcelona's history". The Reds won 4-0 at Anfield, with Divock Origi converting a quick corner from Trent Alexander-Arnold into the winner Liverpool needed. "We have to be ready for all the criticism that is going to rain down on us now," former Liver player Suarez said. "We are very sad, we are in a lot of pain." "It cannot be that in a minute we conce

La Liga Considering Naming MVP Award After Messi

FC Barcelona's captain Lionel Messi is arguably the most dominant player in La Liga history. With that acknowledgement, the president of La Liga, Javier Tebas - a renowned Real Madrid fan - recently admitted that the league (La Liga) has been giving some thought to naming the MVP award after the Argentinian No. 10 when he retires. The Blaugrana No. 10 is La Liga's leading goalscorer of all time, and is largely considered to be the best player to have played in the top Spanish league. With Spain's history of naming, footballing awards after some of its greatest-ever players, naming an award after Messi can't possibly be a far-fetched idea. The most popular Spanish awards named after players are the Pichichi for top goal scorer of the season and the Zamora for the best goalkeeper. La Liga president Javier Tebas, believes Messi deserves to have an award named after him for having dominated football in Spain for so many years. Messi has won five Pichichi awa
