Expressing her displeasure at Sarri's strategy, she said: "I can't understand how you can play like that. Anyway, keep your head up, you can't do anymore." Sarri didn't talk to the players after the defeat but opened up on Ronaldo's drop in form. He told RAI: "He's in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him. "I didn't say ...

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri says Cristiano Ronaldo 'is not a problem'

A furious Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly left the stadium early after being replaced by Paulo Dybala in the 55th minute in Sunday's game between Juventus and AC Milan. The young Dybala scored the winning goal in the 79th minute, providing Juventus with a much needed win required to top Serie A ahead of Inter Milan. According to Sky Sport Italia, Ronaldo left the stadium three minutes before the match ended. To that allegation, Sarri replied, " If it's true that he left before the end it is a problem to be resolved with his teammates."   Cristiano Ronaldo has now been substituted in two consecutive games. He also had a furious reaction after being substituted in Juventus' 2-1 win against Lokomotiv Moscow midweek. Ronaldo has now been substituted as many times this season as he was throughout the entire 2018/19 campaign. This according to Sarri is the result of a knee injury Ronaldo has been struggling with. Sarri told Sky Sports Italia,  "He [Cristi...

Cristiano Ronaldo: I want to win more titles

Cristiano Ronaldo may be on holiday but he's already thinking of the 2019/2020 season. The Juventus star has expressed his desire to add more silverware to his collection this year, under new Old Lady manager, Maurizio Sarri. Arriving Madeira, he told journalists, "I'm always ready. "I want to have a good season, that's always my goal. "Year after year I want to do the best I can and win titles." The Juventus No. 7 who scored 28 goals in 43 appearances last year, winning Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana, also spoke about his hometown Madeira, where he would be spending a few days with his family.  "I'm proud to come here," he said. Sarri wants CR9, not CR7, and 40 goals from Cristiano Ronaldo

New Juventus manager Maurizzio Sarri has met Cristiano Ronaldo (who is on vacation in Greece) to discuss the new center-forward role he wants Ronaldo to take on at Juventus. Sources such as La Stampa, Gazetta dello Sport, Corrierre della Serra claim Sarri and Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici flew out to Cote d'Azur (South France) on Friday for a meeting with the Juve star on his yatch. Sarri reportedly told Cristiano Ronaldo he would prefer he operates more in a 'number 9' role, so that he could be closer to the opposition goal than he is out on the wing. Sarri believes this will enable Ronaldo score more goals.  The 34-year-old striker scored 21 goals in his first Serie A season, but the target Sarri has set for Ronaldo this season in attaining Gonzalo Higuain's record haul of 36 goals in a season - a feat he achieved while playing at Napoli in the 2015-16 season, under Sarri. During Sarri's unveiling at Juventus on Thursday, he said he wants to h...

Maurizio Sarri compares Hazard's Chelsea impact to Messi's at Barcelona

In assessing Eden Hazard's performance for Chelsea in their 2-1 victory at Watford, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri brought up Barcelona ace Lionel Messi. Hazard crossed a century of Chelsea goals in the Blue's triumph at Watford, being the lone goalscorer for Chelsea in the game. The 27-year-old forward is looked upon as a talisman in Chelsea, and has been directly involved in 19 Premier league goals in 18 games this season, the most for any player in the league. Given Hazard's crucial importance to Chelsea, Sarri qualifies Hazard's importance to that of Messi and Ronaldo to their respective teams. "He is very important for us. Messi is very important for Barcelona," said Sarri. "Hazard scored twice today. He is very able to open space for his team-mates." "Maybe we played with quality against Leicester, but today we had much better application for the 90 minutes," he added. Still talking of Hazard, he said, "It is difficu...
