Brazil boss Tite says Lionel Messi is "incomparable" to Pele

Messi has been headlining since his return to international football after a three-month ban. He scored the lone goal in the Brazil - Argentina friendly and another goal and an assist in yesterday's friendly which ended in a 2-2 draw for Uruguay and Argentina. Today, being the 50th anniversary of Pele's 1,000th career goal, Pele dismissed the notion of there being any comparison between the Argentine and the Brazilian legend. Per  Marca , he said:  "Messi better than Pele? Pele is incomparable. "Anyone who wants to compare Pele with another athlete knows nothing. Messi is extraordinary, but within humans. Pele is outside humans, is outside normal parameters. "I do not say this because I am Brazilian, I say it because I saw that story, the magnitude of Pelé, his plays, the individual technique, the header, ambidextrous, his strength, his impulse. If you want to find a defect, you will not find it. " If somebody comes to me and starts to make compar

Lionel Messi scores winner in Brazil vs Argentina friendly

Lionel Messi just played his first game for Argentina since picking up a 3 months ban during the Copa America. It was a feisty friendly encounter in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with two penalties awarded in the opening 15 minutes - one for Argentina and one for Brazil - but both didn't result in goals as both Messi and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus failed to score. Jesus hit the ball several feet wide of Argentina keeper Esteban Andrada's left post. Messi's penalty kick was poor as well, and was saved by a grounded Alisson.  Messi however wasted no time in making up for the miss by scoring the winning goal of the game in the 14th minute of play. This was Messi's first goal against Brazil since an international friendly played in 2012 in which he netted a hat-trick. Messi has now scored 69 goals in 137 appearances for  La Albiceleste . Alisson was Brazil's best player at the tournament, with 7 stops and saving Messi's penalty. Overall, Argentina were t

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri says Cristiano Ronaldo 'is not a problem'

A furious Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly left the stadium early after being replaced by Paulo Dybala in the 55th minute in Sunday's game between Juventus and AC Milan. The young Dybala scored the winning goal in the 79th minute, providing Juventus with a much needed win required to top Serie A ahead of Inter Milan. According to Sky Sport Italia, Ronaldo left the stadium three minutes before the match ended. To that allegation, Sarri replied, " If it's true that he left before the end it is a problem to be resolved with his teammates."   Cristiano Ronaldo has now been substituted in two consecutive games. He also had a furious reaction after being substituted in Juventus' 2-1 win against Lokomotiv Moscow midweek. Ronaldo has now been substituted as many times this season as he was throughout the entire 2018/19 campaign. This according to Sarri is the result of a knee injury Ronaldo has been struggling with. Sarri told Sky Sports Italia,  "He [Cristi

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is without a doubt the heartbeat of Barcelona and club president Josep Maria Bartomeu is doing everything he can to keep the Argentine at Barcelona for the rest of his career as a professional football player. Leo's current contract with Barcelona is set to expire in 2021 and Bartomeu wishes to offer Messi an 'indefinite' contract so he ends his career in Catalonia. During an interview with Associated Press, Bartomeu said, 'Over the next two or three seasons, our leader will continue to be Messi.  'However, there will be other young players coming in.
