Bernard Madoff Company Background Bernard Madoff founded Bernard L. Madoff Securities LLC, a Wall Street investment advisory firm (a hedge fund) in 1960 with $5,000. Madoff was chairman of the firm until his arrest on December 11, 2008. Madoff claimed the Ponzi scheme he ran began in the early 1990s (1991) but federal investigators believe the scheme began as early as the mid-1980s. What Happened     Madoff was praised by many Wall Street investors, despite the fact that his numbers didn't add up. Many Wall Street experts even qualified him as being a genius. Nashville was home to the 52nd annual Country Music Association Awards. CMA Awards were presented to country music's best acts at Music City's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley were hosts at the CMAs. Garth Brooks opened the show with a moment of silence to honor the victims of the recent California shooting. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley also delivered memorable performances. Keith Urban was named Entertainer of the Year - his second Entertainer title, after winning it in 2005. Carrie Underwood won Female Vocalist of the Year for the fifth time in her career, while Chris Stapleton won his fourth consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year award. He was also awarded the Single of the Year and Song of the Year awards for "Broken Halos". The long-awaited Latin Grammy awards are here. The 19th edition of the Latin GRAMMY Awards aired live from Las Vegas on Univision on November 15th at 8 p.m. Latin America's biggest stars showed up in style at the MGM Grand Garden's Arena in Las Vegas. Performers like Bad Bunny and Ozuna delivered new versions of their hottest hits. Karol G honored her father and took him onstage when she was named best new artist. She said she owes 100% of her success to her dad. Many artists, including Christian Nodal, Aymee Nuviola, Maluma, Karol G, Victor Manuelle and Rosalia got their first Grammy at the 2018 Latin Grammys. Will Smith, Marc Athony and Bad Bunny lit up the stage with the first live performance of their song " Est á  Rico". Carlos Rivera and Ana de la Reguera served as hosts for the event.
