On Tuesday, June 2nd, Brazil recorded a staggering 1,262
deaths in 24 hours, surpassing 30,000 deaths. Brazil officially counts 31,199
deaths from coronavirus, and has the fourth highest death toll from the virus
after the US, Britain and Italy. Yesterday, 28,936 new infections were
recorded, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 555,383. Brazil is
the second most affected country after the United States.
On Tuesday, Sao Paulo recorded its highest daily death toll
and highest number of daily infections. Cities across Sao Paulo began reopening

presidential palace in Brasilia that he regrets each of the deaths, "but
that's everyone's destiny."
