On Wednesday, June 3,
Mexico's coronavirus death toll soared, more than doubling Tuesday's toll (470
fatalities). 1,092 new deaths were reported. Health
undersecretary Hugh Lopez-Gatell said that some of the deaths recorded on
Wednesday had occurred more than two weeks earlier but weren’t recorded, which explains
the huge increase in deaths.
3,912 new coronavirus
cases were recorded on Wednesday. Mexico now counts 101,238 cases and 11,729
deaths, making it the seventh country with the most deaths from the virus.
