If you're a yoga lover or looking for some inspiration to kickstart your yoga journey, here are the badass female yogis to watch out for, on Instagram.
1. Laura Sykora
Laura began her yoga journey almost 20 years ago. She had a background in gymnastics and cheerleading before embracing yoga. She and her husband, Edward, completed their Level 1 Acrovinyasa certification with YogaBeyond in 2015. Laura's been an official VIP Ambassador for Alo Yoga since July 1, 2017. Laura keeps her yoga classes fun and playful, yet challenging. She has 1.2 million followers on Instagram.
2. Kino MacGregor
Kino tried her first yoga class when she was 19, after which she fell in love with the Mysore yoga style. She made frequent trips to India, where studied Ashtanga yoga from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois ("Guruji"). At the age of 29, Kino received the certification to teach Ashtanga yoga, from Guruji. In 2006, she and her husband, Tim Feldmann, founded Miami Life Center, where they and other teachers teach yoga. Kino has produced six Ashtanga Yoga DVDs and recently created OMstars - the world's first yoga TV channel. She has 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
3. Rachel Brathen
Swedish native Rachel Brathen has been practicing yoga since she was a young teenager. She's a New York Times best-selling author and international yoga teacher, residing in Aruba. She released her first book, "Yoga Girl" in 2015. She's @yoga_girl on Instagram, and has 2.1 million followers - the most followed yoga account on Instagram.
4. Amanda Bisk

Amanda started practicing polt-vaulting in 2005. She was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2012, when preparing for the 2012 London Olympic games. She could only work out half as much as the rest of her teammates, due to constant exhaustion. Amanda elected to give up her Olympic goals in order to heal her body. She hasn't pole-vaulted since 2011 but inspires hundreds of thousands on Instagram with her crazy-bendy poses, since falling in love with yoga in 2012. Amanda has 700,300 followers on Instagram.
5. Irene Pappas
Irene discovered yoga in 2012, and enrolled in a 200 hour yoga teacher training program shortly after. Irene believes her yoga practice taught her how to keep her peace. She rose to fame by posting fitness and yoga photos to her Instagram account. She's known as @fitqueenirene on Instagram and has 553,100 followers on Instagram.

6. Kerri Verna

Kerri was first introduced to yoga through her local fitness club where she attended the Body Flow program. Her love for yoga started when she became pregnant with her child in 2004. She had never done yoga before so she found it challenging, yet peaceful. Kerri says she didn't eat healthy, and was lost and insecure, with no spiritual life before discovering yoga.
