To Cristiano Ronaldo,
the overhead bicycle kick he scored for Real Madrid against his current club
Juventus, in the past Champions League, was better than Mohamed Salah's Premier
League goal which won the FIFA goal of the year award (Puskas).
Salah's fine curling strike
against Everton in December controversially won him the award, beating
Ronaldo's bicycle kick, Lionel Messi's amazing World Cup goal against Nigeria,
and Gareth Bale's stunning overhead goal against Liverpool in the 2017/2018
Champions League final.
Ronaldo scored his acrobatic
goal in the Champions League quarter-finals and joined Juventus a few
months later.

The
33-year-old five time Ballon d'Or winner who wasn't in attendance at the FIFA
Best Gala took to Instagram to speak his mind on the FIFA Best awards five days
after the ceremony. He told his 142 million Instagram followers: "Salah, it was a good goal. My goal in reverse, we're
serious." "Bicycle kick, my goal. Was amazing goal come on
guys. Should be honest, don’t lie to yourself." He also
said, "I'm not disappointed,
life is like that, sometimes you win and others lose, what interests me is that
in 15 years of career I managed to maintain the same levels of
performance."
"Awards are awards... I already have a lot. I
play to win and not to win awards." He went on to congratulate his former
Real teammate, saying, "Congratulations to everyone, to Modric, best
player of the year according to FIFA." Of course, he doesn't share FIFA's opinion.
In other news, Ronaldo's lawyers will also be
suing German magazine Der Spiegel for publishing "blatantly illegal"
accusations by an American woman who claims to have been raped by the
Portuguese soccer in 2009.
