Actor Luke
Perry, best known for his roles in "Beverly Hills 90210" and
"Riverdale", died today, at the age of 52 after suffering a massive
stroke on Wednesday, February 27. Perry was rushed to a hospital in Burbank,
California, last Wednesday, after suffering a stroke at home in Sherman Oaks,
on the outskirts of Los Angeles.
Following
his passing, a representative of his released a statement this afternoon. “Actor Luke
Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke.
“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison
Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett,
brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have
been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy
in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this
time.”
The late actor was born on October 11, 1996, in Mansfield, Ohio, with
the name Coy Luther Perry III. He was married to fellow actor Rachel Sharp from
1993 to 2003, and they had two children before their divorce.
Tributes have been paid to Luke on social media since the announcement
of his passing in the afternoon. Herewith some of the tributes.
