Anna and Lucy DeClique, self-dubbed
"world's most identical twins" plan to get pregnant by their shared
boyfriend at the same time, and if allowed by the law, marry him. The 33-year
old DeClique twins revealed that their mum was behind the idea, which would make
their future children half-sibling and cousin. The twins made their plan to
conceive at the same time on Today. The 33-year-old sisters are
both dating 35-year-old Ben Byrne, whom they met in 2012.
Talking on Today,
they said, "Love is love; we are all adults."
"Our
mum’s actually convincing us to give birth naturally. I don’t know how that’s
going to work."
The twins who
finish each other's sentences, admitted falling pregnant at the same time would
be difficult, as they said, "It’s going to be another challenge. There’s a
lot of pressure on Ben." They said they would like to marry Ben, but are
restricted by Australian law which makes it illegal. "If we can change the
government we would love to marry Ben," they said.
"I
think we should marry the same man. This is what works for us. People need to
get that. We aren’t hurting anyone."
They
previously discussed their relationship with The Sun, saying, "We were upfront that we came as a package and he
insisted that was fine with him."
"Being a non-identical twin
himself, he said that he understood our bond.
"We were still nervous
though."
"We knew some guys might
think it was kinky to date twins and see us a trophy, so we had to feel sure
that Ben genuinely liked both of us before we agreed to meet him."
