Fed up with single life, a 22-year-old
lonely Russian man married his favorite food, pizza, in the city of Tomsk in
south-central Russia, although he and his "bride" were refused
permission to marry officially. The groom's thin and crispy bride wore a veil
while the groom was clad in his best shirt. The ceremony took place in a local
pizzeria. The managers and cooks at the pizzeria served as witnesses and went
as far as providing the man with a marriage certificate. The groom decided to
tie the knot with his favorite food after getting tired of single life. "At
some point I realized that half of my friends were complaining about their
better half, while the others were complaining about the lack of a better
half," he said.
"Love between two humans is a
complicated wild thing. I was grateful that I had at least my love of food and
then it came to me that actually love for food remains stable no matter
what."
"Pizza would not reject you or
betray you, and speaking quite frankly and sincerely, I love it."
