Last Days of Dolores Mary O'Riordan - The Cranberries frontwoman

Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan born September 6th, 1971 at Ballybricken, Republic of Ireland was The Cranberries' frontwoman. Dolores was raised near the Irish city of Limerick and was the youngest of seven children. She died on January 15th, 2018 at London Hilton on Park Lane, London, United Kingdom. Dolores died at the age of 46. She is survived by 3 kids: Taylor Baxter Burton, Molly Leigh Burton and Dakota Rain Burton whom she had with her ex-husband Don Burton. Dolores was married to Burton for 20 years. They got married in 1994 and got divorced in 2014.

News of her death came as a big blow to family and fans as she was in high spirits throughout the last days of her life. The day before her death, she flew to London where she planned to meet with Youth about the second D.A.R.K. album which was near completion. She also planned to add her vocals to a new version of The Cranberries' 1990's hit "Zombie" by the L.A. metal band Bad Wolves. Not long after midnight on January 15th, O'Riordan left two voicemail messages for Dan Waite who had made her collaboration with Bad Wolves possible. Waite revealed she had to have dinner with his his wife and himself in the days ahead. He insists O'Riordan was in a "good space".
Dolores was found unresponsive in her London hotel room at about 9:00 a.m on Monday (January 15). The London ambulance service was contacted to have her death verified. Police were dispatched to the hotel and they ruled her death non-suspicious but unexplained. A post mortem exam was carried out and Westminster Coroners' Court revealed that a hearing had been scheduled for April 3rd to determine when the findings regarding O'Riordan's death.
Dolores appeared to be in good spirits in the second week of January. She and Cranberries bandmate/guitarist Noel Hogan spoke by phone on January 12, about working on a new studio album. She even emailed him several new songs that would be considered for their next album.

O'Riordan was buried today, January 23 2018. She was laid to rest beside her late father, Terence, in a private ceremony at the Caherelly cemetery. Terence O'Riordan passed away in 2011 after a tough battle with cancer. O'Riordan's bandmates Neil Hogan, Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler assisted in carrying her coffin. Her bandmates responded to news of her death on January 15th by saying, "We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordinary talent and we feel privileged to have been art of her life groom 1989 when we started The Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today." O'Riordan was loved by many artists - Irish and international, many of whom shared messages of condolences and remembrance of the late Irish rock-star.

O'Riordan's boyfriend and fellow D.A.R.K. band member, Ole Koretsky was in attendance. Her ex-husband Don Burton and their three children - Taylor, Molly and Dakota, joined Eileen - O'Riordan's mother and her six siblings in the rural church of Saint Ailbe, Ballybricken. The funeral service was broadcast on local radio and dozens of stations played The Cranberries' hit "When You're Gone" after the midday news.
