Manchester United hero and former Uruguayan
striker Diego Forlan who spent the 2003/04 season at Old Trafford (Manchester
United) discussed Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo's obsessions with his looks,
with Fox Sports. Ronaldo was signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 to replace
David Beckham who left following a breakdown in his relationship with Sir Alex
Ferguson. Forlan who was already at Old Trafford when Ronaldo arrived has
pointed out 'egoism' as being the main difference between Ronaldo and Beckham.
“Ronaldo was an egoist in the dressing room –
not like Beckham.” he said.
“Cristiano always wanted to be near a mirror. He
spent all day looking in the mirror.”
“Ronaldo was changing in front of the mirror,
tremendous."
Forlan also played alongside David Beckham who
was as famous as Ronaldo for his looks and skill on the pitch.
“Beckham was more natural, they are different.
Cristiano is all more worked.
“Beckham was disheveled and fit, the other you
never saw disheveled.”
