Emiliano Sala
died at 28, on his way to his new club Cardiff, in a plane crash over the
English Channel. A privately-funded underwater search led to the discovery of a
body in the plane's wreckage on February 3. On February 6, the body was
retrieved and later formally identified as Sala's. The plane's pilot, David
Ibbotson is yet to be found though presumed dead.

signs of affection and support in what is the most painful time of our
lives," read the statement.
