Has Cristiano Ronaldo
had plastic surgery? Recent reports suggest he just may. The Serie A superstar
is renowned for both his footballing ability and his good looks. We all know he
earned his superior footballing ability through determination and hard work.
How much do we know about the origin of his good looks, though?
It's no
secret that the Juventus star has a near-obsessive fascination with his image,
but how far will he go to achieve those dashing looks? A number of accounts
have been given by Ronaldo's teammates about his self-admiration. One of such
accounts was shared by ex-England striker Peter Crouch, to the Daily
Mail.
“Rio Ferdinand would tell us stories about how Cristiano Ronaldo would
stand in front of the mirror naked, running his hand through his hair, and say,
‘Wow. I’m so beautiful!'” he told the Daily Mail.
“The other United players would try to wind him up,
[saying] ‘Whatever. Leo Messi is a better player than you’. And he would
shrug his shoulders and smile again. ‘Ah yes. But Messi does not look like
this…’
Another former teammate of Ronaldo's, Wayne Rooney, revealed that one of
Ronaldo's favorite pastimes is staring at himself in the mirror.
"There's a mirror by Ronaldo's seat in the Old
Trafford dressing room. In the time I've been playing with Ronnie, the one
thing I've noticed about him is that he can’t walk past his reflection without
admiring it, even if we’re about to play a game of football," the former
Manchester United player wrote in his 2012 book 'Wayne Rooney:
My Decade in the Premier League'.
"Every match, before the team goes out for the
warm-up, he runs through the same routine. The kit goes on, the boots go on.
Not long after, Ronnie turns to his reflection and stares, psyching himself up
for the game."
Ronaldo's hairline appeared to be receding in 2013,
when he was spotted at a Monaco gala. However, signs of his hairline deserting
him had disappeared upon his next public appearance. Hair transplant experts
from The Belgravia Centre wrote a sarcastic message on their website in
response to the disappearance of Ronaldo's receding hairline. It
read: “We’re sure the star would want to catch hair loss as soon as
it began.”
Experts seem to think Ronaldo did go under the knife to improve his
looks. Cosmetic surgeon Alex Karidis made an analysis for The Sun,
of Ronaldo's transformation since arriving Old Trafford as an 18-year-old in
2003.

“It looks like he has had Botox around the eyes and
forehead. His skin is now almost immaculate,” said Karidis. He went on to say
that Ronaldo may have had fillers to improve the smoothness of his skin.
“Fillers plump up an area where time has deepened the
lines, such as smile lines around the mouth.
“Ronaldo’s face is smooth there now which could be
because of fillers which are injected in fluid form into the skin.”
The expert also suggested Ronaldo may have had a nose
job but admits it could just be his face evolving.
“It is possible he has had a tweaking to the tip of his
nose although it isn’t drastic.
“His nose looks smaller than it was ten years ago but
that could just be his face evolving.”
What’s your opinion? Has Ronaldo had his good looks
surgically enhanced?
