Lionel Messi attends Messi10 Cirque du Soleil premiere in Barcelona

10th of October 2019 was the date of the premiere of the Messi 10 Cirque du Soleil show - a production about Messi's life - at Barcelona. Six-time FIFA Player of the Year Lionel Messi was in attendance at the premiere. The show was split into two 45 minutes halves, just like a game of football. Messi was accompanied by his stunning wife Antonela Rocuzzo. Barcelona players like Ansu Fati (and his family) and Luis Suarez (and his wife Sofia Balbi) were also in attendance. Other high-profile Barcelona players could not attend the event due to being on international duty. Barcelona were represented by a number of board members, led by the president, Josep Maria Bartomeu. La Liga president Javier Tebas also attended and spoke to the press.
The Cirque du Soleil show will later move to Messi's homeland, Argentina, and perform in Buenos Aires.
The music played during the show included songs by Pharell Williams, The White Stripes and Shakira's World Cup anthem "La, La, La". Messi came on stage at the end of the show, where the entire cast was gathered, and Shakira's "La La La" playing, greeted the performers, bowed awkwardly and headed off. Shakira was among the many celebrities in attendance.
In an interview with RAC1 this week, Messi who had only seen select parts of the show before the premiere said: "It's impressive.
"It was very weird when it all started, when they said they wanted to do this. For me it's incredible, because it's not normal for someone who is still so present to be an inspiration.
"It's usually done as homage to people who are no longer with us. It was very difficult to mix football and circus and the fact that they were inspired by me was surprising so it was a very nice feeling."
Messi's story is that of a kid who made it to the very top thanks to talent, hard work, sacrifice, and destiny, perhaps.

The finger-cutting tradition of Indonesia's Dani tribe

The death of a loved one is always an extremely painful thing to bear, and people of different cultures grieve in diverse ways, some more unique than others. A typically unique way of grieving is that of the Dani (an Indonesian tribe). Finger-cutting is a fundamental part of grieving for women of the Dani tribe, and pertains to their women only. According to The Globe and Mail, an estimated 250,000 Dani tribe members live in a town named Wamena, in the extremely remote central highland area of Papua Province. Wamena is only accessible by plane.  Upon the death of a loved one, the top joint of one of a woman's fingers would be amputated, and smear ashes and clay across their faces. Prior to amputation, a string would be firmly tied to the upper half of the woman's finger for 30 minutes, to cause numbness. This was to reduce the pain from amputating the tip. In most cases, the responsibility of cutting off the top joint of the finger is assigned to one of the woman's
