'Why We Opted Out of Cristiano Ronado's Transfer'

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness revealed his reason for not signing Cristiano Ronaldo when he left Real Madrid last summer. Hoeness told Blid, "We would have paid that amount for him with our eyes closed if he was 24 years old but he's 33."

Cristiano Ronaldo is however not an average footballer and has proven so with his success at Juventus. He has scored 10 goals and made six assists in his first 14 league games. Moreover, results from Ronaldo's medical at Turin revealed that Ronaldo's physical state resembles that of a 20-year-old. The results also showed that Ronaldo has 7% body fat, with 10-11% being the average for professional footballers. His muscle mass of 50% also exceeds that of the average professional which is usually around 46%.

Upon arriving Turin, Ronaldo said, "I'm different from other players who think their careers are over when they're my age.

"I want to show that I'm not like others, I'm different.

"Players of my age go to China or Qatar so coming to such an important club at this stage in my career makes me very happy."
