According to Johns Hopkins University data, the daily death
toll from the coronavirus fell to 1,557, a decrease from Saturday's 1,877 and
Friday's 2,108. The US has the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths
in the world - 550,000 confirmed cases, and more than 22,000 deaths. The global
death toll has surpassed 114,000 deaths and 1.85 million coronavirus cases.
Dr. Robert Redfield, director of US Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention was on NBC'S "Today" show and said the US
is "nearing the peak right now".
"You'll know when you're at the peak when the next day
is less than the day before," he said. "We are stabilizing across the
country in terms of the state of this outbreak."
